As a therapist I know how important it is to choose the right
therapist for your needs. A good relationship with your
therapist is crucial creating a foundation based on trust
so you can explore your concerns in a safe environment.
After all, a therapist is someone you will work closely with
and they will help you rediscover yourself. It’s important to
find a good fit so that you can be comfortable in bringing up
anything you want to work on.
I’ve had lots of people ask me questions like: “How do I know
I chose a therapist?” “How will I know that it is a good fit?”
“I want someone direct but how do I ask for that?” “What do I
ask to find out more about a therapist?”
These are all great questions. I look at selecting a therapist as

Abuse doesn’t always confine itself to the limits of physical force the tongue can transform into a dagger, slicing the ego, cutting holes into thought patterns and shredding self esteem. You’re too fat, too skinny, not smart enough, can’t do anything right. One thought spewed by the mouth without thinking can propel a person into a self destructing silo of low self esteem. Self esteem and self confidence are terms often intertwined but are truly different in meaning. The fact of the matter is a person can have high self confidence and low self esteem. Self esteem is your personal perception of you as an individual. Self confidence is your reliance in your abilities to accomplish tasks at hand. Although you may find confidence in you abilities you may see the reflection in the mirror as disgusting.
Regaining a sense of who you are after it has been lost is a process, but it’s a process worth doing. Some symptoms of low self esteem include but are not limited to the following: Preoccupation with other people’s opinions, a disregard of self, anxiety or various emotional agitations, absence of social skills choosing to avoid social situations. ...

“Change is like shedding one’s skin - it allows a more beautiful you to emerge”
As the leaves begin to fall, transformed from green to vibrant yellows, reds, and oranges, we are faced with the inevitability of change. Change is the one constant in life, as expected as the leaves falling at the start of a new season. If change is inevitable then why are we constantly avoiding it, at times unwilling to accept it, and often view it as negative? Just like the emerging colors that define Autumn dance around us with breath taking beauty, change is a positive force in our lives that will allow a new beauty to emerge.
